GUPI - is a robotised guinea pig that looks and feels like a real one. He is totally autonomous. Not only will he walk around freely, he'll show emotions too!

GUPI has a very interactive playing behaviour, if you don't play with him he becomes lonely and scared and he will go hiding in a dark place. But if you caress him he will feel loved, and he will be happy.

GUPI can also hear you, and he will react to voices and sounds, depending on his mood ..... When GUPI is happy he will actually come running at you when you call him, but when he's scared he can't stand noise and will run away from it. When happy GUPI will also follow a light beam so you can lead him wherever you want him to go. When GUPI gets hungry you can feed him through a little carrot, and he's ready for a lot more fun together with his friends.

When other Gupis are in the vicinity, they will express excited behaviour and they will learn gradually how to accept each other, how to share food, and how to play with each other!

Sensors:
The GUPI has sensors on the top and bottom to enable moving around obstacles. It has an altitude sensor to know when it's vertical or not (or being cuddled!) so it know when it can start moving around. It also knows when it's light or dark so it knows when to sleep and when to stay awake.

The Carrot:
The carrot is really cool, because GUPI will chase the carrot when he's feeling playful and you can feed him using it too (Charging time!)

GUPI's Movement:
Not only is GUPI great fun to watch when moving around your furniture, it's QUIET when moving.

Sound Effects:
As you may have heard in the video GUPI has several cute sounds, like 'AAAH' but also has other noises when he feels grumpy. In total there are over 20 different sounds, and they're all professionally done. The sound volume can also be adjusted.

Learning:
There are a few different states GUPI can be in, but 99% of the time he'll be cute and playful. When you first turn him on he'll need some loving care like stroking, plus some encouragement when he avoids obstacles. After you have trained him, he'll develop some interesting and cute characteristics, including a little dance when he's really happy!
